It was indeed a moment of joy and praises at the Benin City campaign office of Dr Pius Odubu, the former Deputy Governor of Edo State and a frontline contender in the June 22, 2020 Edo State APC Governorship Primary election as the APC Chieftain held a scheduled meeting with some critical stake holders of his campaign organisation. 

In his opening remarks, the quintessential lawyer and two times Federal House of Representatives member between 1999 and 2007  wholeheartedly appreciated and commended everyone who, in various ways contributed enormously to the Odubu Governorship project.

He particularly extended his thanks to the former Commissioner of Justice and Attorney General of Edo State, Barr. Henry  Idahagbon for his loyalty,  dedication, steadfastness and commitment.

Speaking further, Dr Odubu extolled the selfless contributions made by the former Attorney General in the quest to ensure that the Odubu project was  deep rooted.

The erstwhile Deputy Governor of Edo State  thanked President Muhammad Buhari for the well-deserved appointment of Barr Idahagbon into the Federal Civil Cervice Commission as the Commissioner representing Edo, Ekiti and Ondo states.

In similar vain, he eulogised Hon Samson Osagie, a former Minority Whip of the Federal House of Reps, for his vibrant contributions in the course of the Odubu Governorship project, and didn't fail to also thank thanked every other persons who supported financially to the campaign.

In a more joyful mood, he acknowledged that he is surrounded by the right choice of people who have always been there for him through thick and thin.

The coordinators and Women Wing of the Odubu Campaign project at various levels, across the state were commended for their time and expertise put into the project. His Excellency did not fail to shower encomiums on them on the resilience shown throughout the period and support in diverse ways, especially their daily praise and worship to God.

Members of Odubu Media Team also got a fair share of his appreciation. He strongly acknowledged their uncommon courage, commitment, maturity, literal, media prowess and strides in promoting the project and pray for the success of everyone of them.

He particularly thanked the immediate past National Chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole for his political doggedness and uncompromising administrative sagacity. He made special reference to the recent federal appointments of some illustrious indigenes of Edo state whom the former Comrade Governor played very significant role. The national President of Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria  (RTEAN) Comr. Osakpanwan Eriyo, was also acknowledged by Dr. Odubu for his support and commitment towards the project.

The highpoint of the meeting was when Dr Odubu happily informed his audience that the APC has chosen Pastor Osagie Ize Iyamu as its candidate for the forthcoming September 19th, 2020 Edo State governorship election and therefore directed all his coordinators,  followers and supporters across the 18 Local Government Areas and 192 wards of Edo State to work assiduously and give Pst. Osagie Ize-Iyamu 101% support so as to convincingly win the election.

Characteristically, Dr Odubu Who is known and respected for upholding the supremacy of his party, the APC, said a big 'thank you' to his entire Campaign Team who waited patiently in order to be duely briefed on the next line of action.

The APC leader  reaffirmed his unalloyed loyalty to the party, especially as it concerns delivering the party and its candidate in the forthcoming governorship election in Edo State.

The meeting which was intermittently marked by several melodious songs saw His Excellency led in praising God for his mercies, protection and guidance. 

In his closing remarks, Hon Samson Osagie thanked all members of Odubu Political Family for their unflinching support to the Odubu 2020 project and showered glowing tributes to the former Deputy Governor for his uncommon courage, comportment, and  maturity. Hon Samson Osagie prayed to God Almighty to always direct and guide Dr Pius Odubu in all his endeavour.
