Obaseki swears-in new commissioners, EDSOGPADEC board members, others.

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has sworn-in Hon. Lawrence Ogieva and Hon. Alex Oleije as the Commissioners for Arts, Culture and Diaspora Affairs, and Environment and Sustainability respectively. The governor also swore-in three members of the Edo State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission (EDSOGPADEC) and four others into the Edo State Judicial Service Commission (JSC). He charged the newly sworn-in public officials not to be distracted by the political activities in the build-up to the September 19, 2020 governorship election in the state, but strive to contribute significantly to the development of the state. Members of the Judicial Service Commission sworn-in are: Bamidele Omoniyi Edokpayi; Mustapha Ikhegbe Abubakar; Prof. Anthony Ekata Ogbeibu, and Felicia Eraze Ogbeide. Edo 2020: Obaseki vows to tame Edo aggressors called 'lions, tigers' with nation's laws

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has vowed to use the nation’s laws to tame aggressors called 'lions and tigers' sponsored to cause violence during the forthcoming election. The governor said this during the Ward 10 campaign rally in Opoji, Esan Central Local Government Area of the state. The warning followed intelligence report, urging him to suspend his campaign at the maternal home of a prominent politician in Opoji. His comment comes weeks after candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Osagie Ize-Iyamu, in the election was seen addressing suspected hoodlums code-named 'lions and tigers' in a viral video.
