Obaseki eulogies ex-SSG, HoS, late Imhuekemhe

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has extolled former Secretary to Edo State Government and Head of Service, late Dr. Simon Imhuekemhe, for contributing to the development of the civil service in the state. Speaking at a requiem mass held in honour of late Imhuekemhe, Obaseki who was represented by the State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, described late Imhuekemhe as an encyclopedia of Edo State civil and public service.  He said, "We always consulted him on matters that had to do with the civil service in our state and he offered his honest advice without bias. He left behind solid legacy in our civil and public service for which he would ever be remembered. IWD: Obaseki launches N1bn fund for widows, pledges to deepen women participation in politics

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has said his administration plans to launch a N1 billion Fund for widows, whose livelihoods were adversely affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in the state He disclosed this while addressing a cross-section of women at an event in Government House, Benin City, to mark the 2021 International Women's Day with the theme, "Addressing the Vulnerabilities of Women in the COVID-19 Era: Towards Achieving a More Gender Equal and Inclusive Society.” The governor noted that the COVID-19 pandemic affected women especially widows, adding that his administration has captured data of over 3,000 widows in the ongoing 'Data to Make Edo Great Again' enumeration.
